Construction project slows traffic on Waldron Road

LaVergne, Tenn. -

A multi-million dollar construction project on Waldron Road in LaVergne continues to cause delays.

Beginning Monday, a portion of International Boulevard was closed while crews begin rebuilding and upgrading underground utilities.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation also shut down one block between Waldron and Old Waldron roads during the work.

Officials estimate that section of International Boulevard will be closed for six weeks.

The ongoing project previously began in December 2009.

Businesses along the busy roadway have said sales have suffered due to the project.
