Man uses fake credit card to purchase $5K in merchandise

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

Franklin police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who used a fake credit card to purchase more than $5,000 in merchandise at an area retailer.

According to police, the incident occurred on July 16 at the Pear Tree Avenue store located inside the Cool Springs Galleria Mall.

Anyone with information on the man's identity or whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-794-4000 or police at 615-794-2513.

An anonymous tip can also be sent to police by texting keyword 615FPD, along with a message to 847411.
