Oak Grove shooting leads police on chase into Clarksville

OAK GROVE, Ky. -

A fatal shooting in Hopkinsville led police on a chase that ended in Montgomery County.

Police responded to a call in Oak Grove around 3 a.m. Sunday. According to police a shooting was reported at a business that injured at least two victims.

Officers pursued suspects into Clarksville where they, along with the help of Montgomery County authorities, apprehended three suspects.

According to a report in the Leaf Chronicle, police believe 22-year-old Hersey Mitchell, a fugitive from another state, fired the shots which killed one person.

Mitchell is being held on a $250,000 bond at the Montgomery County jail.

Additional charges are expected against other occupants inside the vehicle.

A second shooting victim remains in stable condition at an area hospital.
