MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. -

Authorities in Maury County released new information on a nearly 40-year-old cold case on Thursday.

A hunter found the skeletal remains of a young African-American woman on February 14, 1975 near Highway 99 and Joe Brown Road.

Maury County Regional recently donated a CT scan needed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in an effort to determine what the woman likely looked like.

Authorities said advances in technology have also helped in coming up with a composite sketch of the woman.

Police said they believe the victim was likely killed in the fall of 1974.

Officials added the woman is believed to have been between 15 and 25 years old at the time of her death.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Maury County Sheriff's Department at 931-380-5733.
