MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A fraternity at Middle Tennessee State University is hosting a benefit this weekend in honor of a student who recently passed away from a rare form of meningitis.
The event in honor of 18-year-old Jacob Nunley will be held on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Boulevard Bar and Grill located at 2154 Middle Tennessee Boulevard.
Nunley, who was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, passed away last Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from bacterial meningitis.
Organizers of the event said 10% of all sales, in addition to 100% of proceeds raised from donations, t-shirt sales and a silent auction will benefit Nunley's family.
A benefit account has been set up at MidSouth Bank in Murfreesboro.
Nunley, a freshman from Dyersburg, Tennessee, was laid to rest last week.
A Facebook page has been set up in Nunley's memory.
