HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

A well-known Sumner County orthodontist and his wife killed in a plane crash earlier this week will be laid to rest Saturday in Hendersonville.

Dr. Gary Cohen, 61, and his wife Nancy, 60, died Monday when their small plane crashed in rural Alabama.  The couple was on their way home from Destin, Florida.

Dr. Cohen was the founder and president of Smile Construction, Inc., a child and adult orthodontist office in Hendersonville, about 20 minutes northeast of Nashville.

Nancy worked as a pharmacist in Gallatin.

Visitation for the couple is scheduled Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

A second visitation will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center, Hendersonville First Baptist Church or Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.

Gary and Nancy Cohen were married for 36 years and leave behind three adult children and two grandchildren.
