ABBEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A south Alabama woman has pleaded guilty to helping her husband escape from police who were seeking him on a murder charge.
Henry County authorities say 42-year-old Lestine Kennedy pleaded guilty to a felony charge of hindering prosecution.
Assistant District Attorney Sam Clenney tells the Dothan Eagle the woman was accused of helping husband Carl Bernard Kennedy leave Alabama and hiding out with him near Miami.
Henry County investigators arrested Carl Kennedy last year on a felony murder charge. He is charged in the shooting death of his half-brother, 31-year-old Clarence "Boo" Williams.
The man remains in the Henry County Jail with bond set at $1 million.
