Crews worked to upright two utility poles near the Country Music Hall of Fame after a driver crashed and knocked them over.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday on Second Avenue South at Molloy Street between Korean Veterans Boulevard and Demonbreun Street.
Officials estimated thousands of dollars worth of damage to the poles and power lines.
Power lines were hanging low to the ground and the Nashville Electric Service was contacted to make repairs.
The driver told police she and her boyfriend were on the way to pick up her mother when she fell asleep behind the wheel.
The roadway was shutdown for several hours and it has since reopened. There were no initial reports of power outages in the area.
The crash remains under investigation.
