MTSU to open new Student Union building Wednesday

Middle Tennessee State University is set to officially open their new Student Union building on Wednesday morning.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. outside the main entrance of the building that faces west toward the courtyard and College of Education Building.

President Sidney McPhee, among other school officials, will speak at the event.

Tours of the nearly $65 million building will be offered following the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The 211,000 square-foot building features a ballroom, game room, theater and restaurant, among other amenities.

Parking will be available in a lot north of the Student Union building next to Blue Raider Drive and near Greenland Drive.

Students have been able to take advantage of the new Student Union since school began last month.
