KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee players and coaches insist they have a more mature team with a better understanding of how to respond to setbacks this year.
Now the Volunteers need to prove it.
Tennessee didn't handle adversity well at all Saturday in a 37-20 loss to Florida, giving up the last 24 points of the game for its eighth consecutive loss in this rivalry. The Volunteers now must prepare for Akron and make sure the season doesn't unravel.
This marks the second straight year that Tennessee won its first two games of the season before falling to Florida. Last year, the Vols went on to finish 5-7. While this year's team has traveled a similar path thus far, the Vols (2-1) believe they will avoid a repeat performance.
