2 injured in shooting near TSU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police are looking for the gunman that shot and injured two people near TSU's campus.

 

The call came in just before 9 p.m. on Friday on Taylor Merrit Court. Police said they are looking for a 16 or 17-year-old black male who was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark hat. The suspect also had braces.

 

Police said one victim, believed to be 19 or 20-years-old, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

 

The second victim, a 19-year-old was transported to Centennial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

Police told Nashville's News 2 the shooter was with two other suspects who tried to rob the second victim.

 

In a release, Metro said the suspects approached the victims and demanded property.

 

When the victims refused to obey their orders, the suspect fired a shot into the ground. When the victims fled, the suspect shot at them.

 

 No additional information was released. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
