NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Authorities in Rutherford County charged a babysitter with reckless endangerment and child abuse after a boy in her care bit a one-year-old girl more than 20 times.
Detectives said Brenda Davis, 57, left the toddler and four-year-old boy unattended in her home in July when the boy bit the girl on her back, buttocks, face, arms and legs.
The toddler was treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was released to her parents.
During the investigation, police discovered multiple marijuana plants in Davis' home, some within reach of the young children.
Davis told detectives she used the marijuana mainly for medicinal purposes when making hot tea.
Davis was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $20,000 bond.
