NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Runners will take to the streets Saturday to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The Hustle for the House 5K and one-mile fun run starts and finishes at the Nashville Ronald McDonald House located at 2144 Fairfax Avenue off of 21st Avenue South.
Runners wishing to participate can sign up the day of the race.
Registration is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run.
The money raised during Saturday's race will go toward families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
The organization helps to keep Nashville families stay connected during difficult times, especially those who need to be close to loved ones who need hospital care.
Michael Potter, a house beneficiary, told Nashville's News 2 the organization helped keep his family together when his son was diagnosed.
"It's amazing because when Noah was diagnosed the first time, our family was always separated," Potter explained.
"We have a two-year-old as well and we were always separated. She would have to go stay at my brother's house because only two people are allowed in a room with Noah, and it's been really amazing and really easy for us to access the hospital and be together as a family," he continued.
The one-mile fun run starts at 7:30 a.m. with the 5k to follow at 8 a.m. The race course will weave through the Hillsboro-West End neighborhood.
