Clarksville police made an arrest early Friday in Thursday's double shooting outside a Clarksville daycare center.

Police arrested 26-year-old Travis Skelton early Friday morning.

Skelton was charged with aggravated assault for the incident outside the Kiddieland Day Nursery on Chapel Street.

Police told Nashville's News 2 it appeared Skelton and another man were fighting in the street outside the daycare when a woman who was dropping her child off tried to break up the fight.

Shots were fired and the woman was hit once. The other man involved in the fight was hit three times.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said during the incident, the children were immediately taken to the center of the facility and the doors were locked.

No one inside the facility was injured.
