NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Nashville native R.A. Dicks is Major League Baseball's first pitcher to win 18 games this season thanks to a 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dickey (18-4) used his knuckleball to strike out 5 Cardinals in 6 2/3 innings and gave up just 2 runs. He's the first Mets pitcher to reach 18 wins since Frank Viola and Dwight Gooden in 1990.

At the plate Ike Davis hit a three-run homer, his 26th of the season.
