For just $50 and a quick true or false quiz, a Tennessee resident can qualify for a non-resident Virginia concealed carry permit. The Web site, OnlineGunClass.com claims the permit is honored in 27 states, including Tennessee. However, shades of gray in Tennessee's reciprocity law have lawmakers looking for answers."The Department of Safety is looking into it," explained Rep. Glen Casada of Williamson County. "If it's so, if it's a way to get around the law, we've got to close it." OnlineGunClass.com is one of at least two Web sites that offer the gun permit class. After reading five chapters about firearms, applicants are guaranteed to pass the test or there's a money back guarantee. The online test is raising serious questions about safety."If you're going to take a test without ever picking up a gun, how do you train someone with anything if you don't hands on train them?" questioned personal safety instructor Buford Tune.State officials are investigating whether any actual laws are being broken.
