HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

A Hendersonville mother was arrested over the weekend after locking her infant in a car and leaving the child there for two hours.

Hendersonville police responded to the InTown Suites on West Main Street around 4 p.m. Saturday after receiving a complaint about an infant being left in a running vehicle.

Several minutes later, the child's mother, Jessica Farris, 24, returned to the vehicle and told officers she did not have keys to the vehicle as they there locked inside.

The investigation revealed that the child had been inside the vehicle for a two-hour period.

Farris was charged with child abuse and neglect and booked into the Sumner County jail on a $10,000 bond.
