NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A burglary suspect is in custody after a police pursuit ended in a crash early Tuesday morning in north Nashville.

The chase began shortly after 3 a.m. when an officer saw a man later identified as Russell Crockett inside the Boswell's Harley-Davidson store on North Gallatin Pike.

The window to the business was busted out and Crockett's gold SUV was backed up to the front of the business with the hatch open.

Crockett fled after seeing a passing officer and crashed a few miles up the road at Myatt Drive and North Dupont Avenue.

Inside the vehicle police found 10 leather Harley jackets valued at $500 each and six other jackets valued at $100 each allegedly stolen from the store.

Crockett was charged with burglary, evading arrest and driving on a suspended license and booked into the Metro jail on a $75,000 bond.

Police said he was also booked on a charge of felony failure to appear stemming from a January 2012 probation violation arrest related to a 2010 domestic assault conviction.

Crockett's arrest history reflects convictions for aggravated robbery, theft and assault.
