Sumner County jail inmate hospitalized following fight

GALLATIN, Tenn. -

A Sumner County jail inmate was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a brawl with another inmate.

The sheriff's office told Nashville's News 2 the victim suffered a head injury when his head slammed into the concrete floor.

The alleged attacker was recently convicted of rape.

He now faces assault charges.

The victim was last listed in stable condition.
