Student hit by car in Marshall County

CORNERSVILLE, Tenn. -

A student at Cornersville High School was clipped by a white Ford Mustang on her way to school Thursday morning.

The incident happened before 8 a.m. on Ostella Road off Interstate 65, south of Lewisburg.

The girl was not seriously injured but may go to the hospital as a precaution, Cornersville Town Administrator Taylor Brandon said.

Authorities said the driver of the Ford Mustang did not stop and the vehicle last seen traveling north toward Lewisburg.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or the driver's whereabouts is urged to call Cornersville police.

Police said the vehicle likely has damage to its right side.

The investigation is ongoing.
