NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A body was discovered in a wrecked car late Wednesday night at Edwin Warner Park in western Davidson County.

The discovery was made around 11 p.m.

Metro police said the vehicle was hidden from view and may have been there for several days.

A passing motorist's headlights illuminated the Honda's rear reflectors and the driver notified police.

The preliminary investigation indicates that George McCabe was driving his 1999 Honda Accord eastbound on Vaughn Road when, for reasons unknown, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with several small trees before stopping in a ditch.

McCabe, 51, was not wearing his seat belt.

An autopsy will determine whether a medical issue may have contributed to McCabe's death.

There was no evidence of alcohol involvement at the scene, police said.
