3 Wayne County schools close due to drought

COLLINWOOD, Tenn. -

Three Wayne County schools will be closed Wednesday due to a critical drought situation.

Director of Schools, Gailand Grinder, told Nashville's News 2 they are closing the Collinwood elementary, middle and high schools due to a water shortage in the city.

Officials will evaluate the situation Wednesday and plan to truck more water in.

There was no immediate word on when school would resume.
