NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Metro police officer on patrol saw smoke hanging over the road, leading to the discovery of a house fire.
The discovery was made around 2:30 a.m. Monday at a home on Sarver Avenue in Madison.
The fire department told Nashville's News 2 the fire appeared to have started in the basement, where most of the damage was concentrated.
Commanders said no one was home and the property was in between renters, with some household items already out of the home in the backyard.
No one was hurt in the fire and commanders said it did not appear to be suspicious.
