WR Marc Mariani breaks leg in preseason game against Cardinals

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Titans wide receiver Marc Mariani broke his leg during Thursday night's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals at LP Field.

The 25-year-old was carted off the field following the injury during the first quarter.

The Titans drafted Mariani in the 2010 NFL Draft before signing him to a four-year contract.

He went to the 2011 Pro Bowl for the Titans as a wide receiver.

Mariani is expected to be out with his injury for the 2012-2013 season.

He reportedly underwent surgery for a compound fracture Thursday night.
