Metro police said a tip to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of a convicted felon wanted for two recent convenience store robberies.

James Knight was taken into police custody on Monday.

The 33-year-old man is accused of entering Daily's located at 7691 Highway 70 South just before 5 a.m. on the morning of August 8 and demanding cash from the store clerk at knife point.

A struggle broke out between Knight and the clerk before he fled the scene with six packs of cigarettes.

A short time later, Knight is believed to have entered the Mapco located at 4314 Harding Pike and demanded cash from the clerk at knife point.
