A Memphis man was arrested late last week in Rutherford County on theft and drug charges.
Courtney Skinner was initially stopped for a seatbelt violation Friday morning while traveling on Interstate 24 near mile marker 72.
The arresting trooper reported when he asked the 27-year-old for his driver's license, Skinner explained his passenger had his ID in her purse.
As the passenger searched her purse, the trooper observed a bag of marijuana.
Eleven grams of cocaine were subsequently discovered during a search of the car, in addition to two new computers that were determined stolen from two area Walmart stores.
Skinner admitted to owning the drugs.
He was charged with theft of property over $500, felony possession of cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and driving on a revoked license.
He has since been released on a $27,000 bond.
