A six-run second and dominate pitching pushed the Nashville Sounds to an easy 9-1 victory Monday night in Omaha.
Corey Patterson and Taylor Green were Nashville's biggest stars at the plate. Patterson had a pair of doubles and a team leading three runs batted in. Green blasted a two-run home run to key the six-run rally in the second.
On the mound Claudio Vargas was almost untouchable. Vargas went eight innings, striking out seven and giving up just two hits for his sixth win of the season.
