CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
A man on probation for three years is facing charges for three vehicle burglaries in Clarksville.
William Rittenberry was taken into police custody around 6:30 a.m. Monday after a witness saw him entering two vehicles in the Bennett Drive area.
Rittenberry was located a short time later and was found to be in possession of a checkbook, debit card and other property that did not belong to him.
The stolen property has since been returned to its owners.
During their investigation, police linked the 30-year-old to three vehicle burglaries.
Rittenberry is charged with three counts of vehicle burglary. Additional charges are possible.
He was booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $30,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police said Rittenberry has an extensive criminal history for theft and violations of probation.
