Two loaded firearms were discovered 12 hours apart at the Nashville International Airport.
At 5:15 p.m. Sunday, transportation security officers discovered a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in a passenger's carry-on bag.
Also in a passenger's carry-on bag at 5:20 a.m. Monday, officers discovered a loaded .32 caliber revolver.
Both passengers were issued local citations.
Last week, an Alabama man also received a citation after he went through a checkpoint with a loaded handgun in his bag at the airport.
The Transportation Security Administration has discovered 23 firearms at the checkpoint in Nashville so far this year.
Nationwide, 821 firearms were discovered at TSA checkpoints from January through July.
