Vols backup QB Justin Worley gets extra time in scrimmage

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray faked an ankle sprain in the Volunteers' scrimmage Friday night, allowing backup Justin Worley to get more snaps.

Tennessee coaches wanted Worley to get extra time, especially with the first-team offense and to see how the players handled the change. The offense responded after a slow start and coach Derek Dooley said the unit was "explosive" following Tennessee's second and final scrimmage of fall camp.

Worley finished 15 of 28 for 229 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, according to the stats provided by Tennessee. Bray was 5 of 12 for 80 yards and a touchdown.

The scrimmage focused on game situations like 2- and 4-minute drills and overtime. The Vols' scrimmage last Saturday was more game-like.
