NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Belmont University held a ribbon cutting for a new dormitory on the school's campus.

The new dorm, Dickens Hall, is named after long-time university board of trustees chair Marty Dickens and his wife Betty.

Dickens Hall will house nearly 300 upperclassmen and will provide more than 500 parking spots for students.

Currently there are more than 6,700 students enrolled at the Nashville university.

Students return to class on Wednesday.
