Three Murfreesboro schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution Tuesday morning after a suspect fled during a traffic stop.
According to the Murfreesboro Post, officers attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle on Interstate 24 near Gresham Lane but the suspect took off.
The suspect wrecked a few minutes later on John Rice Boulevard and fled officers on foot.
Rutherford County schools' spokesperson James Evans said Blackman High, Middle and Elementary schools were placed on precautionary lockdown around 9:30 a.m.
The lockdown was lifted a short time later.
No one was injured.
The suspect remained on the loose as of 1 p.m.
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, who is around six feet tall and weighs around 175 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and sweat pants.
