Suspect arrested in Smyrna stabbing

Eli Collier, 50, was wanted for Saturday's stabbing in Smyrna.

SMYRNA, Tenn. -

Smyrna police, in conjunction with police in La Vergne, arrested a suspect early Tuesday morning in a stabbing over the weekend in Smyrna.

Officers responded to a home located at 207 Moore Avenue around 10:25 p.m. Saturday to find Bryan Effler with stab wounds to his arm and rib cage.

Effler was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

He underwent emergency surgery and was last listed in stable but serious condition.

Investigators determined Eli Collier, 50, allegedly stabbed him before fleeing the scene.

Collier was located and arrested Tuesday morning.

Additional information was not released.
