Driver caught doing donuts on Nashville golf course, arrested

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police arrested a man early Monday morning caught doing donuts on a Nashville golf course.

Investigators said Chuck Whitaker, 18, drove his Ford Explorer onto Hermitage Golf Course on Old Hickory Boulevard and tore up some of the fairways and greens.

According to the arrest affidavit, Whitaker damaged the ninth green, eighteenth green and the putting green in addition to the ninth fairway, the tenth fairway and the eighteenth fairway.

Police said the damage is estimated at $15,000.

Whitaker was arrested after flipping his SUV.

He was charged with felony vandalism and booked into the Metro jail on a $10,000 bond.

Whitaker is scheduled to appear in court on September 5.
