NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Kentucky teenager was arrested Sunday after breaking into an east Nashville woman's home armed with a knife and hatchet.
According to a news release, 18-year-old Arturo Perez of Florence, Kentucky allegedly entered the home on Curdwood Boulevard near Gallatin Pike around 8:30 a.m.
The female victim reportedly heard knocking on her door but didn't initially answer.
After knocking on her neighbor's door, the suspect, later identified as Perez, returned to her home and knocked on the door once again.
The victim told police that when she slightly opened the door, Perez put the knife to her chest and ordered her to step back into the home.
The victim also had a knife in her hand and put it to the suspect's abdomen before fleeing the home, telling Perez she was calling the police as she ran.
The victim told responding officers Perez fled in a silver Pontiac and recalled the license plate number.
An officer spotted the vehicle a short time later in the 1500 block of South Gallatin Pike and attempted to pull over the driver.
Perez evaded the officer which led to a chase with speeds reaching up to 100 miles-per-hour.
Perez was taken into custody after crashing in Hendersonville.
He later admitted to entering the victim's home with intentions to rob and harm her, police said.
Perez was charged with aggravated robbery and evading police. His bond was set at $200,000.
