Pinterest no longer invitation only

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

One of the hottest social media networks may be getting even hotter.

If you've only heard about Pinterest but haven't been able to see for yourself, now is your chance.

The social network has been open by invitation only, but this week Pinterest opened the gates for everyone.

Now, all you have to do is visit Pinterest.com to register.

Pinterest isn't like Facebook to Twitter or Instagram. Users post photos, recipes, home and garden ideas, decorating and fashion tips. It also has a terrific section for your do it yourself projects.

Pinterest is mostly used by women. You'll see some men using the site, but not many.

It should be interesting to see if more men start using Pinterest now that they don't have to ask a woman for an invitation.

Your old iPhone may be worth something

When the new iPhone is released this fall we can expect the price to be the same as other new iPhones, and the other, older iPhones drop in price.

The iPhone 4 for instance is now $50.

So it would make sense that the older the phone, the cheaper the price.

That is, unless you're talking about the iPhone 1.

On eBay, two original iPhones are up for sale. The asking price is $10,000.

You have to be asking, "Are you kidding me?"

No, and here is why.

This iPhone is still sealed in its original box, so that makes it special.  It is, of course the phone that changed it all.

It was the first phone that allowed you to get on the Internet. It set the standard for what we know now as a Smartphone.

If you are a collector and have an extra $10,000 laying around there are two original iPhones for sale.  There were no bids as of Sunday morning.

There's also an opened first generation iPhone for sale for $1,300.
