CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
A Clarksville woman was taken into custody after she reportedly assaulted a police officer on Thursday night.
According to the Leaf Chronicle, the incident occurred just after 7 p.m. at a home in the 3500 block of Southwood Drive.
The paper reported Brittany Gardner was sitting on the front porch when an officer arrived to help the 19-year-old woman's husband retrieve clothes from inside the home.
Gardner reportedly yelled at the officer and said her husband was not coming inside the home.
After a series of arguments, Gardner tried to go inside the home.
As she was attempting to close the door, the officer stopped it with his foot before he was pushed and hit by the door.
Gardner was taken into police custody and is charged with assault.
She was booked on a $500 bond.
