NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

One person was killed and two others injured in a shooting Thursday evening inside a vehicle traveling on North Gallatin Pike.

Police told Nashville's News 2 a dispute of yet to be determined origin resulted in the gunfire and that one of the men may have been held against his will.

All three persons inside the Chevrolet Malibu were wounded, one of them fatally.

Police said the Malibu ran off the road onto a grassy shoulder in the 1500 block.

One semi-automatic pistol was recovered just outside the car.

The exact scenario surrounding the gunfire remains under investigation.

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Kenadre March.  He was in the back seat of the car.

March was pronounced dead at Skyline Medical Center.

The driver, 25-year-old Alan Beverly, suffered leg, shoulder and stomach wounds and remains hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

According to police, Beverly was convicted in two felony cocaine cases on separate dates last year.  He received two eight-year sentences.

The third occupant of the car, Timothy Brown, 23, ran from the vehicle after the shooting.

He was found hiding inside a dumpster located in the 1700 block of North Gallatin Pike.

Brown suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder and is also hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police said Brown was convicted last year of felony aggravated assault and aggravated burglary and received two 10-year sentences.

Police said detectives would be talking with Beverly and Brown as their medical conditions allow.
