Woman faces DUI for birthday night crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A woman who turned 53 Wednesday faces DUI charges after crashing her SUV early Thursday morning in downtown Nashville.

The wreck occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Third Avenue South at Peabody Street.

The driver, Lynn Byers, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition.

She will be charged with driving under the influence, evading arrest and implied consent following her release from the hospital.

Byers' arrest history reflects charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation and assault.
