Alabama boy dies after accidental shooting by brother

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Jefferson County authorities say a 12-year-old boy has died after being accidentally shot by his big brother.

The coroner says Mikhese Hood died Sunday at Children's of Alabama.

The boy's 16-year-old brother was reportedly trying to uncock a gun when it went off last Thursday at the home they share in Birmingham. The younger boy was struck in the neck.

Police say no charges will be filed.
