NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Divers recovered a drowning victim at Percy Priest Lake late Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel on the scene told Nashville's News 2 the victim 20-year-old Travoris Nawls, went underwater and never resurfaced while swimming with a friend and jumping off the bluffs at Long Hunter State Park just before Noon.
Crews recovered his body just before 5 p.m.
Authorities reported a friend and two boaters unsuccessfully searched for Nawls immediately following the incident.
There are signs posted against swimming and diving in the area.
Metro police, Metro's Office of Emergency Management and the Nashville Fire Department responded to the call.
