2-year-old drowns in Clarksville pool

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning of a two-year-old boy Sunday morning in Clarksville.

Ted Denny, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said Jerrell McKinney was found around 8 a.m. in a swimming pool at a home located at 975 Merritt Lewis Lane.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies tried to revive the child but were unsuccessful.

The death is still under investigation but appears to be a tragic accident, Denny said.
