A determined car thief drove through a car lot fence for a quick getaway, only to be caught a short time later, according to police.
The alleged theft happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday at the Nada Auto Sales car lot on Fourth Avenue South, north of Wedgewood Avenue.
Police told Nashville's News 2 the suspect, later identified as Demedrick McBride, drove a Nissan Frontier truck through the fence that guards the car lot.
Police also found the front door to the business smashed.
A few minutes later, police pulled over the truck in the 400 block of Murfreesboro Road after an officer observed the truck to have a missing headlight and extensive front end damage.
McBride, 30, was arrested and charged with vandalism, burglary and driving on a revoked license.
His bond was set at $31,000.
