Trying to swerve out of the way of another car, the driver of an SUV hit a light pole guy wire and went straight into the air.
The accident happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday on Dr. DB Todd Jr. Boulevard at Jefferson Street in west Nashville.
Police told Nashville's News 2 the driver and her older children were already on their way to the hospital for an unknown reason when another car swerved in front of their SUV.
The driver swerved to avoid the car and hit the guy wire, driving the vehicle straight into the air.
The weight of the vehicle snapped the top of the pole.
The road was shut down for about an hour while crews got the vehicle off the wire.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
