UNIONVILLE, Tenn. -

A high school band director in Bedford County was arrested for soliciting a minor student.

Stephen Givens, 34, was taken into custody Friday morning after he allegedly sent a student multiple texts asking for photos.

According to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, the 16-year-old student from Community High School in Unionville is in one of Givens' classes.

Pending an investigating, the school will likely suspend Givens without pay.

Givens was booked into the Bedford County jail and is expected to appear in court August 29.

His bond was set at $5,000.
