Clarksville restaurant owner convicted of sexual battery sentenced

A Clarksville restaurant owner was sentenced Thursday to probation and will have to register as a sex offender following a sexual battery conviction earlier this year.

Nasir Hakeem, 43, owner of Tandoor Indian Restaurant, was convicted of two counts of sexual battery in February for inappropriately touching a former employee's breasts and intimate areas over her clothing for sexual gratification.

According to the Leaf-Chronicle, Hakeem was sentenced Thursday afternoon to 18 months on probation and will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

As conditions of his sex offender probation, he will not be allowed to hire anyone under 18 years old, has to hire a manager to oversee employee operations at Tandoor Indian Restaurant and can only use a computer for work purposes, the paper.

Hakeem did not have any prior criminal history.

He has two similar cases involving a former employee pending.
