Nashville sisters critically injured in Missouri crash

CLAYCOMO, Missouri -

Two sisters from Nashville were critically injured early Wednesday morning after being involved in a head-on collision.

According to KMBC-TV, Krissamarie Wiechmann, 22, and her 26-year-old sister Kayla Wiechmann were traveling northbound on Interstate 435 when their vehicle was struck by a wrong-way driver. 

The two women are said to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as Rory Liberty.

He suffered serious injuries.

Authorities have yet to determine why the 33-year-old man was driving the wrong-way on the interstate.

The accident remains under investigation.

No additional information was released.
