MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
The Murfreesboro Salvation Army is hosting a backpack and school supply giveaway on Friday morning for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The event will be held at the Salvation Army Center of Hope located at 1137 W. Main Street beginning at 9 a.m.
Officials with the non-profit organization said the giveaway will continue until all backpacks are given away.
Around 400 area students are expected to receive backpacks.
Organizers said separate backpacks filled with school supplies will be available for low-income families on a first come first serve basis.
Volunteers are needed for the distribution.
