MT. JULIET, Tenn. -
As the entire country basks in glory of the Fierce Five's big win in London Tuesday, gyms across Middle Tennessee are seeing a renewed interest in gymnastics.
Victoria Childress, owner of Universal Gymnastics Dance and Cheer in Mt. Juliet, has seen a huge spike in interest.
"It's tremendous," she told Nashville's News 2 Wednesday.
Thanks to the interest in the Olympics, Childress has seen an average of 10 new students a day.
On a non-Olympic year, she says they will usually see one new student a day.
"There are lines out the door this year," Coach Alyssa Gilbert said, adding, "It's just wonderful. You see a lot of the kids really lighting up because they got to watch their passion happening [on television] and when the USA [got] gold, that makes everything better."
Universal Gymnastics Dance and Cheer is offering half-off lessons during the month of August.
