Mother taking kids to school injured in crash

COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

A Maury County mother was injured in a crash Wednesday morning while taking her two children to school on the first day.

The single-vehicle accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. on Darks Mill Road off Carters Creek Pike.

Emergency personnel in Maury County told Nashville's News 2 the mother was injured and taken from the scene by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

One child was taken by ambulance to Maury Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

The other child did not appear to be injured.

Additional information was not released.
